My aim is to share the power of design

— be it with clients or students — by contributing my personal experiences and skills as a designer/artist/educator. From being a first-generation college student, to my career as a designer and art director, to working towards being a civically-minded organizer; I strive to merge community requisites with creative strategies.

As a design professor…

My travels as an educator have taken me from university art studios to community-based settings with a focus in young-adult education. I hope to continue to navigate toward my goal of illuminating and removing barriers for other and future artists by following the pioneering footsteps of Paulo Freire and bell hooks.

As a freelancer…

I am politically liberal, feminist cis-woman of color. I am pro-union, pro-choice, and a LGBTQIA+ ally. And as such I appreciate the opportunities to work with like minded companies, brands, and people who “do good” (or Samma Ajuiva*) — from other small businesses chasing their dreams to organizations who have world-wide reach, Non-profit or B2C, and everything in between.

In my Portfolio

I love the flexibility of digital art and am best friends with Adobe Illustrator. My strength has always been drawing and sketching…so I excel in branding, social media, and custom illustrations for print layout. Check out my major categories of my portfolio: Fine Art, Branding + Identity, Print Design and Social Media.

My design spectrum is from Commercial to Community Art.

I am excited about opportunities around Graphic Design, Art Direction, Design Education, and Organizing/Outreach. My dream would be to find a role that encompasses all of these ideas at once. In the meantime, I would love to hear more about your project, role, or IDEA and how you think I can be of service to that as a creative. And I know EVERYONE’S BUSY-eh-eh-eh (that is my best Lady Gaga impression), BUT FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT.
